Which blood vessel is responsible for carrying oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart?

The pulmonary vein is responsible for carrying oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart. After oxygenation occurs in the lungs, the blood is transported through the pulmonary veins, which deliver this oxygen-rich blood to the left atrium of the heart. From there, the blood moves into the left ventricle and then is pumped out to the rest of the body through the aorta.

In contrast, the aorta is the main artery that distributes oxygenated blood to the body, but it does not carry blood from the lungs. The pulmonary artery is responsible for transporting deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs for oxygenation. Capillaries are small blood vessels where the exchange of gases, nutrients, and waste occurs, but they do not directly carry blood from the lungs back to the heart; instead, they facilitate the exchange of substances.
